Leukemia

Leukemia is a malignant disease (cancer) of the bone marrow and blood. It is characterized by the uncontrolled accumulation of blood cells. In AML, the bone marrow of numerous cells ungeformt called blasts. AML starts with a change in a single cell in the bone marrow. With AML, the cells are often leukemic. Blast Furnace cells. Acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL) is a fast-growing cancer, which the body produces a large number of immature white blood cells (lymphocytes). AML is the most common acute leukemia concerned, and their incidence increases with age. Acute leukemia is a rapidly progressive disease, so that the accumulation of immature, functionless cells in the bone marrow and blood. In acute leukemia, cancer cells grow rapidly and replace normal cells.

The four main types of leukemia result in different symptoms, and ask the different treatments. The signs of the disease, but also a general rule, a feeling of weakness or fatigue, bruising or unusual sores that would heal slowly, or bone pain or anemia (low number of red blood cells).

Causes
Acute leukemia: acute leukemia, abnormal blood cells are immature blood cells (blasts). They can not perform their normal work, and they are multiplying rapidly, so that the disease rapidly deteriorated. Acute leukemia requires aggressive, timely treatment.

Virus: The human T-cell leukemia virus I (HTLV-I) is in relation to T cells acute leukemia. This type of leukemia is well documented in some parts of the Caribbean and Asia, but it is rare to the USA and Europe. Rising rates of leukemia were also workers are exposed to the virus of animal origin (for example, butchers, abattoir workers, veterinarians).

Leukemia is progressing slowly, sometimes more - it is considered chronic leukaemia. Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia (CLL) is the most frequently diagnosed, the elderly as part of an investigation by blood. There can be no exception symptoms associated pale and weak because of anemia develops slowly, as the disease progresses. It can be enlarged glands, the pressure may lead to the symptoms, especially in the area of the throat to produce respiratory disorders. Elderly patients, the disease can remain inactive, even without treatment is placed in reserve until the symptoms are felt.

Symptoms
An early stage of the disease often show no symptoms, but as the cancer progresses, symptoms are more pronounced. Symptoms vary from person to person, but some of the most common symptoms of leukemia
  • Fever
  • night sweats
  • Frequent Infections
  • Weakness

The treatment
Leukapharesis - In some patients with chronic myeloid leukemia, can be extremely high white blood cells develop that can be perfectly normal blood flow to different organs of the body. Leukapharesis is a process used to reduce the number of white blood cells of the body in white blood cells (WBC) in the blood and the rest of the blood is then re-infused into the patient.

Although you can maybe enjoy your body free of cancer, if you have exceeded the hair cells has been diagnosed leukemia, there is no advantage for early treatment. Unlike some other types of cancer, leukemia cells hair can be treated at all stages, which means that await your cancer treatment in the future, do not remission less likely.
